HANDMADE 2013 was the third annual HANDMADE and saw the Festival grow from strength to strength.
Wellington city was alive with curious crafters as they took up the challenge to get hands on over Queens Birthday weekend. Attendees left with new skills, new friends and their own HANDMADE creations to take home and share.
The introduction of the HANDMADE Junior classes saw a new generation of crafters get inspired as children aged 7 and up could join their guardian at select activities.
Knit Lounge Taster classes gave participants the opportunity to try their hand at knitting with some expert guidance from the fine folk at the Holland Road Yarn Company.
Now with the year coming to a close, we are excited to creating another Festival with new activities (and some fan favourites!) to offer more opportunities to celebrate all things HANDMADE!
At HANDMADE 2013 we had over 150 activities to choose from and more than a couple of sell out classes! Workshops, masterclasses and a lecture series kept participants busy over Queen’s Birthday weekend.
You can view our programme here to see what was on offer.
We were happy to boast a flood of positive feedback following HANDMADE 2013. Here’s what some of our participants had to say!
“Thanks for such a fabulous weekend, I loved all the different classes and came home very inspired” – Monique W
“Thanks for a fantastic weekend. I went to two Masterclasses, one lecture and three classes and loved them all.
I really enjoyed Alex Fulton, who was enthusiastic and fun, Rosemary McLeod was excellent – she made me laugh as well as cry and Scott Savage was quirky and interesting.
The three classes were all great and I have come away with three new hobbies! The three teachers were all great and I came away with some great things.
It was lovely to meet so many ladies of all ages, from all around the country, all interested in doing crafty things.” – Cathy P
“Thanks to everyone who made HANDMADE 2013 such fun! I had an amazing time and will definitely be back next time.” – Helen W
