Call For Classes
The 2014 Call for Classes is now open.
Click here to submit your application
We are always on the lookout for new talent so if you have a great idea for the 2014 programme we’d love to hear from you. From Monday 25 November the Call for Classes will be open for three weeks, so get your application together and submit.
Submit your application by 4pm on Tuesday 17 December.
The Call for Classes application should take about 10 minutes to submit (depending on how well prepared you are!) and will cover off the following areas:
- Name of your class
This can often be an important selling point of your class so give it some thought! The quirkier the better as it will help your stand out from the crowd and remember everyone loves a good pun!
- Level of skill required
Click here to view our skill level ratings. We like to have a good range across all skill levels so be put off if you think your class is too easy or too hard, we welcome all applications!
- Notes on Skills
One person’s easy is another person’s Everest! Give a little indication on what type of prerequisite skill your class requires Eg. must be able to sew straight seams on a sewing machine
- Category
Which area of the programme do you see your class falling into?
- Preferred Class Size
Please note we require a minimum of 20 people
- Description
This will be used in our promotional material so while it needs to be concise, please ensure it is a good representation of what your class will involve and provokes interest from potential attendees!
- Materials
You will be responsible for your own materials to teach the class but you need to let us know what attendees will need to bring along to participate. Imagine them coming along empty handed and go from there.
- Equipment and Room Set Up
We need a list of all equipment and the room setup required for you to teach your class. Imagine an empty room and list all the items you and participants will need in it to complete the class.
- Technical Requirements
- A list any technical requirements you need (eg. laptop, projector, screen etc) to teach your class.
- Travel and Accommodation
Your requirements should you be joining us from outside of Wellington
- Indicate your involvement in the HANDMADE Store
Running alongside the classes, we operate a HANDMADE Store, featuring the handiwork of our HANDMADE teachers. We look to sell items on your behalf for a small fee. We understand that prepping stock for such an opportunity takes time, so we would like to get an indication early as to whether this is something you want to get involved with.
- Bank Account details
So we can arrange payment of your honorarium as well as any HANDMADE Store profit following HANDMADE.
